Bengal Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd has achieved the highest-ever phenol production worth Rs 8.3 crore in August, an all-time record in the 120-year history of the company.
The company’s Managing Director P. M. Chandraiah said that the factory was working towards achieving a production target of Rs.10 crore in September. Bengal Chemical’s lifeline product “Lamp Brand Pheneol” is produced in Panihati factory.
Despite Corona lockdown, Panihati factory showed a good performance in production and profit. To meet the growing demand, the factory produced 51,960 phenol bottles on a single day setting a new record in the history of the company.
In the last five months, BCPL has achieved a profit of Rs.9.6 crore and is estimating to achieve a profit of Rs.14.6 crore in the half-year ending September against the of Rs.5.6 crore profit during the corresponding period of the previous year, which is more than 260 per cent increase. In the last four years, the company’s profitability ratio has increased from 4 per cent to 30 per cent, which is almost eight times more.
