Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is now the fourth-richest person in the world. The tech entrepreneur’s net worth has increased to $84.8 billion after gaining nearly $8 billion ($7.78 billion) in a single day according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
He superseded Bernard Arnault ($84.6 billion), Mukesh Ambani ($78.8 billion), and Warren Buffet (78.2 billion).
Now, he has entered into the elite group of five richest people in the world. Three more billionaires above him are Mark Zuckerberg ($99 billion), Bill Gates ($121 billion) and Jeff Bezos ($188 billion).
Musk’s two companies — Tesla and SpaceX — have registered solid growth. Tesla shares went up over 300 per cent this year, Bloomberg added. SpaceX that has grown dramatically is close to finalising a $2 billion funding deal, it added.
Musk’s fortune has grown by over $57 billion this year even as many billionaires saw their wealth drop due to the coronavirus pandemic.
